Three more accredited undergraduate programs at our university
The undergraduate programs of Primary School Teaching, Social Sciences Teaching and Elementary Mathematics Teaching of the Faculty of Education have been accredited by the Association for Evaluation and Accreditation of Teacher Education Programs (EPDAD).
As a result of the works carried out in parallel with Bartın University 2019-2023 Strategical Plan and within the scope of ‘Sustainable Improvement and Quality’, three more undergraduate programs have successfully completed the accreditation process, and have gained right to be accredited. Therefore, after the accreditation of the undergraduate program of Turkish Language Teaching of the faculty of Education, the undergraduate programs of Primary School Teaching, Social Sciences Teaching and Elementary Mathematics Teaching of the same faculty have been accredited by the EPDAD, as well. These undergraduate programs accredited for the duration of three years covering the period of 2020-2023 will be listed in the guide to be issued by the OSYM.
“Now, the quality standards of our programs have been approved and recognized”
Underlining the fact that now the number of undergraduate programs accredited by the EPDAD is four, the Dean of the Faculty of Education, Prof. Dr. Cetin Semerci stated that “In our journey to provide the highest quality education to get our students ready for the future, we managed to prove that three more undergraduate programs within our faculty are in line with the highest quality standards. Screening the standards, which covers the introduction, process and the product in seven different fields as the planning, implementation and evaluation of the education by the EPDAD, the academic staff, the students, the cooperation between the faculty and schools, facilities, library and equipment/infrastructure, management and quality assurance, and proofs based on a lot of indicators, the process of the accreditation has been completed. Thus, three undergraduate programs have been accredited for the period of three years. After completing the accreditation of Turkish Language Teaching undergraduate program, now we feel proud to add three more undergraduate programs to the list of the accredited programs.”

Firstly, Bartın Vocational School gained right to receive STCW (Standards of Training Certification and Watchkeeping) which is required to issue license for Restricted Watchkeeping Officering and Yachtmanship (499 GT). Then, breaking a new ground, the Faculty of Islamic Sciences received TSE EN ISO 9001:2015 quality management system certificate. After that, the undergraduate program of Turkish Language Teaching was accredited. And now, we feel happy and proud that Primary School Teaching, Social Sciences Teaching and Elementary Mathematics Teaching undergraduate programs have been accredited. I would gladly state that the applications have been made for the undergraduate programs of Psychological Counseling and Guidance from the Faculty of Education and Islamic Sciences from the Faculty of Islamic Sciences. With a great deal of determination, we continue to do more to reach our objectives. All the work we are carrying out adopt a student-centered approach, and with the help of these, in addition to the content knowledge, we aim to provide our young people with the universal skills of the current age, such as digital competency, complex problem-solving, communication skills, analytical thinking and moral values. We have made significant progress in terms of spreading the “quality culture” in our institution. I wish to express my gratitude to Prof. Dr. M. A.
