Our university is the 605th among the higher education institutions all over the world.
In the gradation of SCImago Institutions, our university that achieved into the gradation is the 605th among 3.897 universities in the world, and according to the investigation performance it is on the 389th university all over the word.
SCImago Institutions Gradation (SIR) has followed the investigation and academic institutions since 2009 and it evaluates the higher education institutions with three indicator groups such as the investigation performance, innovation input and social impact factors.
Our university has firstly achieved with its successful gradation in 2009. Our university that enters into the list fast becomes the 605th gradation among 3.897 universities in the world.
Our university is on the 389th gradation with the evaluation on investigation indicators among all higher education institutions in the world.
Among 7.026 research institutions in the world (with university and other Ar-Ge institutions), our university became the 800th gradation with a great success.
Our university is on 112th among 207 universities from Turkey, and according to the investigation performance it is on 37th gradation.
In the context of Webometrics, it passes 3.879 universities in 3 years.
Our university that shows its improvement in every field achieves to pass 3.879 universities according to Webometrics Ranking of Universities which announced in July, 2020.
Our university that was on 7.037th gradation in the rank of 2017, was also 3.158th gradation according to the last month’s announcement around the world.
According to the Web of Science’s data, the numbers of publication increased more than double in 3 years.
Our university continued to show its achievement in the indicators that are belonged to the publishments that are about the honorable international indexes with Web of Science. According to the gradation organized by the independent news portal, Bartın University was on 69th among 107 state universities in 2017, 44th among 107 state universities in 2018. In 2019, it was on 24th on the rank of publishments for each instructor among 108 state universities.
According to the rank in 2017, our university had 125 international publishments and they increased to 178 ones in 2018. In 2019, this number was 257 and achieved to increase its publishments doubled in 3 years.

Our university’s rector Prof. Dr. Orhan UZUN mentioned that Bartın university makes its mark with the sustainable development. He said: “Bartın University family improves with its decisive plans into the future. We should work more so as to better than the previous days. At that point, we show our ability with the successes in the field of science. We present our scientific works with the qualified publishments and researches that are high of technologic effect value to the services of humanity. Our visibility is also increasing with our international successes and co-operated works, and we create awareness in the social fields. Our works continue without pausing. With these thoughts I appreciated all the family of Bartın University and wished their persisting successes.

Rector UZUN gave information about the success in the rank of SCImago, and he said: “I believe we will also achieve for the following year like this one that we entered to the rank fast.”
Rector UZUN stated: “SCImago Institutions Gradation is a foundation that has sorted the academic institutions since 2009. The higher education institutions are evaluated in terms of three indicator groups such as investigation performance, innovation input and social effect factors with the visibility agency. The period that is used in the gradation encompasses the five-year-period rather than the previous-two-year that the rank happened. The criteria for the involvement in the gradation is to publish at least 100 works in the SCOPUS data base in the last session of the selected period. In this year’s ranking, the data that are belonged to the years 2014-2018 is used. The double-sized increase that indicate the publishments’ numbers in 2019 shows the continuation of the increase in the following years. Our university that has 125 international publishments in 2017 achieves to reach the number of 178 in 2018, and the number of 257 in 2019.”
“Our students’ successes are increasing fast.”
Rector UZUN stated that our university attributed great values with all components in future. He tells: “According to the recent data, our university becomes the 5th with 51 applications among 99 universities in the context of TÜBİTAK ‘2209 the Program of University Students Investigation Projects Support.’ It also becomes the 2nd with 27 projects from the aspect of the supported projects numbers, and it is the first with 52,94% as the supporting percentage among the universities that present more than 50 projects. We had similar degrees in the last years. It shows that Bartın University improves with both its academic stuffs and students on the right track. After these kinds of improvements, we believe our increase will persist.”

Rector UZUN reminds that Bartın University has right to specialize in the context of ‘Regional Progress Oriented Mission Differentiation and Specialization Project’ and in the field of ‘Smart Logistics and Integrated Region Applications’ by The High Education Board (YÖK). He states: “We greatly endeavor our country’s improvement so as to support the national technology. We support and encourage our scientists, and we also conduct the serious works in order to attribute the development of project culture. We continue to contribute to our region and country with the works about ‘Smart Logistic and Integrated Region Applications,’ AR-GE, ÜR-GE works and projects. We try to elevate our academic productivity to the highest points; besides, we prepare our students to the future with great endeavors. With these thoughts I am presenting my many thanks to YÖK Chairman Prof. Dr. A.
