Institutional Briefing on Accreditation
A meeting has been held with the heads of the departments and the directors of the relevant units, on the issues of new approaches in institutional evaluation processes carried out by YOKAK (the Higher Education Quality Committee) and implementation to be fulfilled.
The Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Sedat Yazıcı held a meeting and informed the head of departments about ‘Institutional Accreditation’ to be practiced by YOKAK and the preparations to be made.
At the meeting, the significance of the issues regarding the works to be carried out for the preparation of the Institutional Accreditation, the certificate of “MY QUALITY STAR” to be issued related to the performance of the departments academic and administrative units, ethical values that should be considered concerning the quality assurance, objectivity, transparency, independency, openness to cooperation, guidance, innovativeness and respectfulness values.
Yazıcı said “within the scope of Institutional External Evaluation Program, YOKAK closed the first-five-year PDCA cycle covering all the activities performed between the years of 2015-2019 by completing the external evaluation of the higher education institutions. As for 2020, new approaches and practices shall be put into practice for institutional evaluation processes. As the new period opens, monitoring-evaluation shall be carried out through visits to be made for the higher education institutions under monitoring, and 20 higher education institutions shall be included into the Institutional Accreditation Program for piloting for the first time.”
The meeting has been ended, after the views on the necessity of performing activities enabling individuals to reach global competencies within the scope of continuous improvement that pays attention to the values of uniqueness, innovativeness and morality.
