An Interactive Phase in the Quality Journey: Guidance Activity at the Faculty of Education

Within the scope of preparations for our University’s Institutional Accreditation evaluation scheduled for May 2026, the “Guidance and Consultancy Activities” continue at full pace. Following the Faculties of Science and Forestry, the Faculty of Education represents the third stop of the process, where a dynamic, question-and-answer–based interaction was carried out.

The guidance activities, aimed at extending the University’s quality assurance system to the most granular level of each unit, have moved beyond a traditional meeting format and focused on an “on-site consultancy” model. Under the leadership of Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Zafer Ceylan, the quality team met with academic staff and management at the Faculty of Education, bringing the process into an interactive dimension.

Question-and-Answer Based Applied Consultancy
Within the scope of activity no. 2026-03, instead of a presentation-oriented flow, a participatory method was adopted in which participants’ views were gathered and their questions were addressed. In this guidance activity, attended by 76 participants from faculty administration and academic staff, the following topics were discussed interactively:

• Unit-Level PDCA: Discussions were held on the concrete implementation of the continuous improvement cycle (PDCA Cycle) within academic departments.
• Process Management and Handbooks: The integration of Quality and Process Management Handbooks into daily academic operations was clarified through a question-and-answer format.
• Accreditation Outcomes: The expected outputs from the faculty prior to the May 2026 evaluation were discussed in detail.

Third Stop: Faculty of Education
In this systematically progressing guidance series across the University, the Faculty of Education actively contributed to the development of quality standards following the successful implementations at the Faculties of Science and Forestry. Throughout the activity, participants’ questions were directly addressed, eliminating uncertainties regarding the accreditation process and reinforcing a sense of “full ownership.”

Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Zafer Ceylan emphasized the importance of the process with the following remarks:

“We view quality as a way of life. We are here not only to present but also to listen to you and to make every unit an active agent of this process. Our success in 2026 will be the result of this shared sense of ownership.”

Objective: A Living Quality Culture
The main objective of these activities is to transform quality from a mere documentation process into a living culture within every unit of our University. The question-and-answer sessions at the Faculty of Education once again demonstrated the strong ownership of this culture by academic staff.

Guidance and consultancy activities across the University will continue with other units according to the established schedule, contributing to a strong foundation toward the 2026 objectives.
