Two programs at Bartın Vocational School of Bartın University (BARÜ) have successfully been accredited by the Vocational Education Evaluation and Accreditation Association (MEDEK).

As a result of ongoing work in the field of quality and accreditation, Bartın University (BARÜ), where approximately 50% of its undergraduate programs across 7 faculties have achieved accreditation, continues its quality journey with the accreditation processes of its associate degree programs. Thanks to efforts to ensure that its educational programs meet national and international standards, the Organic Farming and Business Management Programs within the Bartın Vocational School have recently been accredited by the Vocational Education Evaluation and Accreditation Association (MEDEK). Thus, with the accreditation of associate degree programs for the first time, BARÜ, which has already certified the quality of education in 19 undergraduate programs, has taken another significant step towards sustainably strengthening its institutional structure.

The MEDEK evaluation team, which operates with the aim of contributing to raising the quality of associate degree education in Turkey by conducting accreditation, evaluation, and information studies for educational programs in different disciplines, subjected two programs within Bartın Vocational School to review according to various criteria. As a result of the evaluations, the Organic Farming and Business Management Programs were successfully accredited for a period of 4 years.

Rector Prof. Dr. stated that they are working diligently with the strategies and goals determined within the framework of quality assurance for the accreditation of education programs at BARÜ. Orhan Uzun stated, “As a university, we place great importance on the accreditation of our associate degree programs, just as we do with our undergraduate programs. To this end, all our departments and programs are diligently continuing their quality and accreditation efforts. As a result of our efforts to obtain accreditation certificates that attest to the quality of education for all our programs, we have achieved another significant success with the first-ever accreditation of our programs within the Vocational School. We will continue to work tirelessly to ensure that each of our programs reaches international quality standards. With these thoughts in mind, I would like to thank our Vocational School Director, Prof. Dr. Ayşe Genç Lermi, our Department Heads, Dr. Cevdet Gümüş and Dr. Hasan Yavuz, and all those who contributed to this process of attesting to the quality of education in our programs. Furthermore, I would like to express my gratitude to our President of the Council of Higher Education (YÖK), Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar, and the members of YÖK for their continuous support in our pursuit of excellence, and to the President of the Turkish Higher Education Quality Council (THECQ) for their encouragement in our quality-focused efforts.” “I would like to express my gratitude to Prof. Dr. Ümit Kocabıçak and our THECQ members,” he said.
