With all graduating departments in the Faculty of Science at Bartın University (BARÜ) now accredited, more than 60% of the university's 41 undergraduate programs have certified their educational quality.
Bartın University (BARÜ) continues to achieve significant success in accreditation processes through its qualified education-training and research infrastructure. In this context, most recently, the Departments of Computer Technology and Information Systems, Biotechnology, and Mathematics in the Faculty of Science were accredited by the Association for Evaluation and Accreditation of University Programs in Mathematical, Natural and Social Sciences (FEDEK).
As a result of evaluations conducted by the FEDEK Evaluation Team within the framework of various criteria, these three newly accredited departments have ensured that all graduating departments within the Faculty of Science now have their educational quality certified at both national and international levels. Following the quality assurance studies carried out with a strategic management approach at BARÜ, the number of accredited programs has risen to 28 (26 undergraduate and 2 associate degree programs). Thus, a major step has been taken toward strengthening the institutional structure, with more than 60% of the 41 graduating undergraduate programs now holding accreditation.
Emphasizing the importance they attach to program accreditation processes with a quality-oriented educational approach, BARÜ Rector Prof. Dr. Orhan Uzun stated:
"As a university, we reflect the changes in the higher education ecosystem onto our internal and external quality assurance systems, turning quality into a cultural practice. We work with great dedication to ensure that all our programs reach national and international standards. As a result of our efforts, we are increasing the number of our accredited programs day by day. With these thoughts, I would like to thank our Dean of the Faculty of Science, Prof. Dr. Bülent Karakaş, our Heads of Departments Prof. Dr. Ramazan Yılmaz and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hasan Ufuk Çelebioğlu, and all our human resources for their selfless work toward our institutional progress. I would also like to express my gratitude to our President of the Council of Higher Education (YÖK), Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar, and the members of YÖK for their support in achieving the better, as well as to our President of the Turkish Higher Education Quality Council (THECQ), Prof. Dr. Ümit Kocabıçak, and the members of THECQ for their encouragement in our quality-oriented studies."
